Last week, Governor Riley directed the Alabama National Guard to call on all businesses in the effected area and show the business owners how to make claims for economic damages from BP. Today it was announced by President Obama that BP would place 20 billion dollars in escrow to compensate those that have been economically damaged. The claims process involves comparing sales from the prior two years to present sales to substantiate damages.
