MOBILE RANKS #1!!! (Small Metro Areas, 34% Growth Anticipated)
Mobile AL has been awarded the nations LARGEST MILITARY CONTRACT IN HISTORY ..... a $200+ Billion Air Force tanker project which will generate over 5,000 high paying jobs in Mobile, pushing this entire Gulf Coast region to the front of the nations most prosperous areas.
Mobile recently ranked #1 as the "fastest growing economy over the next five years" by Moody's Economy.com & Forbes.com (financial magazine) and this was BEFORE the annoucement of the assembly of the Air Force's new aerial refueling tanker that will be built in Mobile.
These are just the latest in a series of economic wins for the area. These industrial developments will expand Mobile and the Eastern Shore communities of Spanish Fort, Daphne, Fairhope, and Point Clear as well as the Luxury Beach Rental economies of Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Fort Morgan Alabama ....... look for increasing value to Alabama Gulf Coast and Eastern Shore investment properties!
Also, Forbes.com highlighted the $3.7 billion ThyssenKrupp AG steel mill, Austal USA's continued growth in shipbuilding, and the Northrop Grumman / EADS airplane assembly plants as among Mobile's strengths.
Additionaly, Mobile Alabama's State Docks is undergoing the largest expansion in its history by expanding its ship container processing and storage facility and increasing container storage at the docks by over 1,000%.
Mobile County will have the fastest growing economy over the next five years among all 363 American metropolitan areas, according to the forecast by Moody's Economy.com, - growing 34.3 percent from 2007 through 2012. This will have a significant impact on the real estate market in the Baldwin County area too! The Eastern Shore communities of Spanish Fort, Daphne, Fairhope, Point Clear for industrial, commercial, and residential and Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Fort Morgan, and Ono Island should see increasing demand for condominiums and vacation homes.
The ranking reflects success in diversification, with strength in aerospace, shipbuilding, steel making, as well as medicine and information technology - all core industries for economic growth.
