Steal Your Love, the Lucinda Williams cover, is the second song from our October 8 practice session in the garage in Milton, Georgia. Lucinda wrote it, and it’s on her 2001 album Essence.
Why I picked it
Steal Your Love is about getting that empty bucket’s holes filled.
The session
This is the second run-through of the song that day, a practice session and not a performance. It’s unpolished and a little loose, and I’m glad we had the recorder running. We don’t have to be great, but we won’t put out junk, and this one made the cut.
